Week 5 has been an exciting week for everyone here at Project Ver !
This week we have had the chance have our first meeting with a member of the blind and vision impaired community. This was an incredibly valuable interaction as we start trying to define our scope and the project boundaries.
Some of the points that were raised in our meeting was the difficulties associated with catching public transport, more specifically, identifying busses, locating bus numbers and reading timetables.
Having this time with our stakeholders is so important as we try and understand more about the small differences our stakeholders perceive that make daily tasks less accessible or more accurate. Other features we discussed that could be beneficial included audio navigation and facial recognition. One point that our stakeholder stressed was the importance of the device being aesthetically pleasing, something we will have to start considering in the coming weeks...
On the project management side, we have managed to finalise our project schedule, seen in the figure below. We will hopefully spend the next week refining the specific tasks to be completed before the conclusion of the semester.
