Week 11 Blog Update

Week 11 was a big week for the Capstone teams with Audit 2 due Monday morning and the PA2 presentations taking place on Thursday afternoon.

Abi, Alex and Nathan presented on behalf of the team and gave an in-depth summary of where the team is up to and updated the rest of the tutorial group on the progressions we as a team have made over the past 10 weeks. The presentation focused on delving into the engineering frameworks and technical project planning decisions we have been making throughout the process. Alongside the Audit preparation, the team has been researching software and hardware components currently on the market. This includes understanding concepts and pre-exisiting software to enable functions such as: detect object and obstacle, read signs and labels, as-well as input and output functions such as text to audio and audio to text. We are planning to come together in week 12 to discuss our findings and begin formulating a BoM. This research will also help guide concept generation as we begin to discuss the requirements and limitations of both the hardware and software needed to develop the device.
